The products database lets you save your items once and reuse their details on every shipment — no more typing HS codes and descriptions from memory.
Adding a product
- 1Go to Products in the sidebar
- 2Click Add product
- 3Enter the product name, description (as it should appear on the customs form), HS code, unit value, and weight
- 4Save the product
Using a product when creating a shipment
When the customs form appears during shipment creation, start typing the product name in the description field. Your saved products appear as suggestions — click one to fill in all fields automatically.
What to include
- Name — your internal reference (not shown on labels)
- Customs description — what appears on the CN22 form; must be specific and in English for international shipments
- HS code — 6-digit code; the most important field for customs clearance
- Value — typical unit value in your billing currency
- Weight — approximate weight per unit in kg
- Country of origin — where the item is manufactured (e.g. Denmark, China, Germany)
Getting the HS code right is the most important step. An incorrect HS code can cause customs delays or unexpected import duties for your customer.
