Every shipment moves through a series of statuses as it progresses from creation to delivery. Here is what each status means.

Label created

The label has been generated and a tracking number allocated, but the carrier has not yet scanned the parcel. This is the first status after booking.

In transit

The carrier has scanned the parcel at least once. It is moving through the carrier network.

Out for delivery

The parcel is on the delivery vehicle and should be delivered today.

Delivered

The carrier has confirmed delivery. This may mean delivered to the recipient's address, left in a safe place, or ready for collection at a pickup point.

Failed / Error

A delivery attempt was made but was unsuccessful. Common reasons include nobody home, incorrect address, or the recipient refusing the parcel. Check the tracking details for the specific reason.

Cancelled

The shipment has been cancelled. This status is set manually or by the carrier in some cases.

On hold

The shipment is paused, typically at customs or pending a recipient action (such as paying import duties).

Status update timing

Status updates depend on the carrier scanning the parcel. There is typically a delay of several hours between events. Tracking does not update in real time — ShipCelero polls the carrier periodically. You can trigger a manual refresh from the shipment detail page using the refresh icon.

A shipment that stays at Label created for more than 24 hours after you handed it to the carrier usually means the carrier has not yet scanned it. This is normal for the first scan.
